Announcing Emergency Support Fund Grants

Gratitude grows in the heart and we at the Dufferin Community Foundation are most grateful to be able to support the efforts of four worthy charities through the Dufferin Emergency Support Fund Grants. The $35,000.00 total grant is made possible through our generous donors who believe in community and are willing to demonstrate their commitment by helping fund those in need.

The exciting news is that TeleCheck will now be able to better support Seniors, many of whom are feeling very isolated and alone. Big Brothers Big Sisters will be able to create more matches between Bigs and Littles to support children in great need of friendship and care. The Canadian Mental Health Association will be able to directly support their clients with practical needs such as rent, groceries, clothing and cleaning supplies. Family Transition Place will be able to deliver the Healthy Relationships program, which will benefit students who soon will be adults in our community. This program benefits all of the Dufferin community as living together in healthy relationships is good for all of us.

The decisions around grant disbursement are difficult as we would love to be able to give more funding. In time and with your support, we will do this. For now, we would like to offer our sincere Congratulations to these four local charities and thank them for their heartfelt good work, making a huge difference in the lives of Dufferin citizens.
