Dufferin Community Foundation reached another major milestone last week in hiring Michele Fisher of Mono as its Executive Director. This appointment coincides with
the extensive growth in donors, endowment funds, and grants to Dufferin charities over the past three years.
In presenting its recommendation to the Board of Directors on September 21, the selection team highlighted Michele’s extensive experience in the charitable/non-profit sector and her expertise in branding, marketing and communications. Over the last 25 years, she has worked with organizations such as United Way Greater Toronto, Bhayana Family Foundation, Baycrest, OMERS Foundation and Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County.
They believe that her local involvement and community leadership with organizations such as Rotary Club of Orangeville Highlands and CFUW (Canadian Federation of University Women) will enable her to make a rapid transition into this new role.
Michele will assume overall management of the foundation, and will lead communication strategies for upcoming campaigns, as the Foundation works towards its goal of raising
$10M for the Dufferin community.
Also at this significant milestone, the Board recognized the outstanding contribution made by Debbi Goss, our retiring General Manager. Her skill in managing multiple portfolios and bringing positive energy to every task was noted by Gord Gallaugher, President, who also commented “Debbi brought her extensive experience in managing non-profit organizations to the Dufferin Community Foundation, so valuable especially in its formative years. We were fortunate to have been able to tap Debbi’s talents, and look forward to our continuing relationship as she champions the growth of the Dufferin Community Foundation, as she transitions to a new role with the Foundation.”
