Local grants for charities serving Dufferin County
One of the best things about a community foundation is that every year, annual income from our endowment funds is invested back into the community through our charitable grants.
Dufferin Community Foundation has been awarding grants since its first year of operation. Some of the grants were sponsored by local business people, some were part of a local and federal COVID-19 response, and in 2022, we gave out our first grant from a family fund.
We are pleased that in our fifth year, we will be allocating more than $50,000. Grants will only continue to grow, hand-in-hand with the growth of our endowment funds.
Grants opportunities for 2023
This year, our locally-funded grants program will consist of:
- Community Services Recovery Fund grant (Jan 6-Feb 21)
- Greenwood Family Fund grant
- Woodlot Fund grant
- Cedar Fund grant
As a member of the Community Foundations of Canada, we are uniquely able to participate in national programs, such as this year’s federal Community Services Recovery Fund program, the Emergency Community Support Fund in 2020 and the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge in 2021.
