Pine River Institute

2020 Emergency Community Support Fund Round 2 Grant recipient.

When COVID-19 hit in mid-March, it created economic uncertainty for many people in our community. While other workplaces were forced to cut back on hours or even lay people off, we needed to increase staffing immediately in order to meet the complex needs of our vulnerable. Hiring two more staff for classroom support and more cleaning staff relieves other front-line staff of additional stress and responsibility, bolstering staff retention and creating greater capacity for Pine River to help youth in need. With this grant, we can continue to provide youth struggling with mental health and addictions issues the proper tools and skills to succeed, as they work to regain their lives, their families and their futures.
