Testimonials

We set up our own family fund within the Dufferin Community Foundation to support the community that has given us so much. We like the idea of leaving a family legacy where the gifts are made from an endowment that generates investment revenue forever. The total grants made by the Foundation over time can far surpass the initial funding.

Donations help ensure that we can meet expectations; whether it’s for transportation to medical appointments, employment and volunteer opportunities, and daily leisure trips, please know that you are making a difference in their lives. This donation brought joy to so many and provided some comfort to not only the people supported but their families too. Thank you from all of us at Community Living Dufferin which will help to ease the anxiety that we are all feeling

First, let me say that the donation made by the Dufferin Community Foundation certainly took away the stress of wondering if we could help all of our hamper families this year. We had significant need this year and the Dufferin Community Foundation made it all possible. THANK YOU!

Opening the Greenwood Family Fund within the Dufferin Community Foundation allows us to directly support Dufferin County charities close to our heart – for the long term. We know that our donation will enhance the quality of life of where we live, work and play for future generations

Please accept our heartfelt appreciation for your recent gift of $12,115 to Pine River through the federal government’s Emergency Community Support Fund.

Through your generosity, we can continue to provide youth struggling with mental health and addictions issues the proper tools and skills to succeed, as they work to regain their lives, their families and their futures. Your gift will have a lasting impact, especially during a time of such uncertainty. Your support to Pine River helps us to guide our youth to brighter days through these trying times.

On behalf of all our students and their families, thank you again for your generous support.

Development Coordinator, Pine River Foundation

The key reason we donate to the Dufferin Community Foundation is their knowledge of the charitable sector in Dufferin and their ability to direct funds to the areas of greatest need, supporting more than one charity. As donors, we do not need to do that research ourselves and are assured that funds will go where they are needed most.

When the pandemic began in 2020, CMHA Peel Dufferin, like many community service providers, responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing their hours, the number of staff answering calls to the intake line, and transitioning services and programs to remote delivery.

CMHA Peel Dufferin arranged for the donation of 100 cell phones from Telus and a reduced rate monthly plan. The Foundation supported this effort with 14 phones allocated to clients in Dufferin County as the rural nature of the population presents additional barriers to service, including poor internet connection and distance from in-person care sites.Cell phone plans were expected to end by March 31st, however Telus has now agreed to extend the plans until the end of August.

We wouldn’t have been in a position to advocate for this extension if it wasn’t for the Dufferin Community Foundation’s support over that past few months. Please pass my thanks along to your Board. We really, really appreciate it. I’m the Chair of the Board for a local foundation and it means a lot to me to hear about the impact our grants have on the community, so I wanted to pass this info along to let you know that your contributions have ripple effects that make a huge difference for our clients.

The Dufferin Community Foundation is not meant to compete with or to replace the fund raising and generous donations that currently support our community.  Rather the Foundation will add a new and robust opportunity to build and enrich the good work of our charitable organizations and ultimately enhance community wellbeing in Dufferin County. Every contribution, whether large or small, brings the Dufferin Community Foundation closer to becoming the vital resource we need in beautiful Dufferin County.
