2020 Emergency Community Support Fund Grant recipient. My son needs a walker seat as he is having an extremely hard time lifting his feet and holding himself while attempting to use his walker. He needs it for safety as well as support or he will not be able to walk in his walker. A ramp will help me to load and unload the wheelchair into the vehicle. I am a single parent so I am always loading and unloading alone, and it is difficult and heavy to lift.
This equipment will make a life changing difference to my son and I as we both need the support. He will use the walker and I will use the ramp. This will help him use and exercise his muscles. It will also give him the motivation and encouragement to try and take more steps independently. The ramp will help me as I have suffered shoulder and back injuries from lifting the wheelchair.
