An Evening Under the Stars

Usually at this time of year, we would be inviting you to join us for our magical Evening Under the Stars in June. After a memorable winter of life in a snow globe, it’s nice to visualize the first evening of summer in that big, beautiful tent with friends and food for a great cause.

The landscape looks a little different this year. With the economic and geopolitical uncertainty that we all feel right now, we have made the difficult decision to defer this year’s gala to 2026.

We are disappointed of course, as the gala is an overwhelmingly positive night for our donors and our premier fundraiser of the year.

What can I do to help, you may ask? 

Our operations are modest and we are not fundraisers in the traditional sense. Our goal is to connect people who care with causes that matter in Dufferin County. A donation to Dufferin Community Foundation’s Sustainability Fund in lieu of a gala ticket will help us work towards that vision. 

We give our heartfelt thanks to Joan and Paul Waechter, our hosts for An Evening Under the Stars for the last three years. The success of those evenings is due to the generosity of the Waechters and their spectacular location. Joan is one of the Founding Directors of the Dufferin Community Foundation. 

We will certainly miss the opportunity to gather with you. Thank you so much for your support. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
